slider-el-rastro-09The original Rastro flea market spans over several streets around the old neighbourhood of La Latina, Madrid (Spain).

Since the eighteen century makers, traders and farmers gathered in this area to trade & sell. To this day, every Sunday, hundreds of stalls line up the streets and thousands of people, locals and tourists, parade around looking for a vintage leather jacket, handcrafted lamps, old cameras, crockery and a myriad of other items. Along with perusing the stalls, the tradition is to bar hop drinking “cañas” (beers) and eating tapas.

The Rastro Market in Melbourne will combine these Sunday traditions in one venue with a curated selection of Spanish and International design and craft stalls as well as 2nd hand, brik and brak stalls from the Spanish community in Melbourne.
